Every year, the BCI student council organizes the orientation week. Here you will receive important information for the start of your studies and have the chance to get to know your new fellow students. The O-Phase always takes place in the first week of October.

Math preliminary course
The preliminary math course (NAT-ING II (BCI/BW/MLW)) will take place from September 7th to 25th, 2026. This is organized by the Faculty of Mathematics and your future math lecturer Dr. Martin Scheer. We definitely recommend taking part, especially if you graduated from high school a while ago. It also helps you to get into your studies and not be completely thrown in at the deep end in the first few weeks. Registration for the preliminary course is not mandatory and is still possible after the start of the preliminary course.

Studium+
Studium+ is an additional program offered by the BCI Faculty that supports first-year students during their first semesters with supplementary courses (e.g., BCI Driver’s License, Higher Mathematics 0/3 Plus, Fluid Mechanics Plus, Thermodynamics Plus), and participation is possible through the fourth semester. As a result, the standard period of study is generally extended by the duration of the program, which usually requires registration in BOSS. Your peers will show you exactly how this works.
